Protect Your Kitten with Trusted, Affordable Kitten Insurance

What We Cover

Why Does Your Kitten Need Insurance?

Welcoming a kitten into your home is exciting, but it can also come with unexpected vet bills. Kittens are naturally adventurous, which means accidents and illnesses are more common in their first year.

Common issues we help cover:

  • Upset stomachs
  • Injuries from high-energy play
  • Early signs of chronic conditions

When am I most likely to claim on pet insurance?

You are most likely to claim on kitten insurance during their first six to twelve months of life, as this is a high-risk development phase driven by natural curiosity and a maturing immune system.

During this initial year, the majority of claims fall into two primary categories: accidental injuries and acute juvenile illnesses. Some of the most common injuries and illnesses we hear about, are:

  • falls from high furniture
  • soft-tissue strains
  • injuries from stepping on sharp objects
  • Swallowing household objects such a ribbon, house plants and more

What Isn’t Covered

Most (if not all insurance providers) will not cover the following:

Pre-existing conditions

Illnesses, injuries or symptoms that appeared before the policy began. Some specialist policies may offer limited cover, so this varies by provider.

Routine and preventative care

Vaccinations, flea and worming treatments, health checks and other everyday care are usually not covered.

Spaying or neutering

These are generally treated as planned procedures rather than unexpected veterinary treatment.

Routine dental treatment

Cleaning and general dental maintenance are often excluded. Cover for dental accidents or illnesses depends on the plan and may require regular dental checks.

Pregnancy and breeding costs

pregnancy, giving birth and treatment connected with breeding are commonly excluded.
